SSQS is an privately-held, industry specific, non-governmental agency that sets standards for global Six Sigma training and certification. These voluntary standards are set in conjunction with industry experts, SSQS founding members, and SSQS accredited members to help ensure standardization of Six Sigma training across the industry.
SSQS standards are voluntary and Six Sigma training organizations are not required to hold accreditation to offer training or certification. This is because the Six Sigma industry does not have a singular governing body. The goal of the SSQS is to unify Six Sigma standards at three key focal-points: Training, Certification, and Organizational Quality.
The SSQS is unique within the Six Sigma industry:

The SSQS is unique within the Six Sigma industry:
- The SSQS does not dictate which Six Sigma Standards a training company should follow. The SSQS publishes its own six sigma standards, the SSQS body-of-knowledge (SSQS BOK), however accredited organizations may choose to follow other standards if they prefer. Instead, the goal of SSQS is to ensure training companies publicly disclose which Six Sigma standards they are aligned with. SSQS accredited members must pass the 15-point accreditation standard before being approved.
- SSQS looks at both the six sigma standards that the training company follows as well as the training organization itself. To be accredited, organizations must pass the SSQS 15-point quality assurance standards for training organizations.
The SSQS is currently operating in BETA, and not accepting membership requests. The SSQS is wholly owned by the Management and Strategy Institute as a way to set standards for certifications within the Six Sigma industry.
